Oil Sands Camps

In addition to our mobile camps, PTI has been operating permanent camps in the oil sands region of northern Alberta, Canada for close to twenty years and has owned and operated its own camps for almost ten years. Currently, PTI has four major, company-owned oil sands lodges: Beaver River Executive Lodge, Athabasca Lodge, Wapasu Creek Lodge and the recently announced Conklin Lodge. All of these facilities are located north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, in the heart of the oil sands developments. The Beaver River Executive Lodge, adjacent to the PTI Athabasca Lodge, provides executive level accommodations for middle and upper management working in the oil sands region. This facility offers executive suites with private bathrooms, free internet services, conference rooms, fitness facilities and a licensed lounge. The Beaver River Executive Lodge has expanded from its initial capacity of 258 rooms in 2006 to 730 rooms by the end of the third quarter of 2007.

PTI’s Wapasu Creek Lodge, also to be located in the northeast oil sands region, will provide both first class rooms and executive style suites. With several major oil sands projects in the region, we believe this is an opportune area for expanding its operations organically. We have plans in place to expand Wapasu's capacity from its current capacity of 1,560 rooms to 2,300 rooms by the end of 2008.

PTI Conklin Lodge, located South of Fort McMurray, Alberta, is in the heart of the southern oil sands developments and is expected to be fully operational by the end of the second quarter of 2008.  The Conklin Lodge will have dorm style, private and executive suite style rooms.  Like its three sister lodges in the oil sands region, Beaver River Executive Lodge, Athabasca Lodge and the Wapasu Creek Lodge, the PTI Conklin Lodge will provide our full suite of first-class accommodations and services including catering, ancillary and convenience services, internet service, conference rooms and leisure facilities for fitness, entertainment and relaxation.

Oil States and PTI have committed significant capital in the past three years to support our growing presence in the oil sands region. The table below summarizes our capital plans at the four major lodges.
